Hello,

How can my friends continue to play on my Minecraft world while I am offline? (Nintendo Switch)

Hi! So I bought a Nintendo Switch yesterday and I’ve been playing minecraft multiplayer with a couple of my friends. When I create a world, I make my friends operators but whenever I quit and go offline the server closes for my friends too. Is there a way for my friends to continue playing in my world while I am offline?

Can you level up a character offline and than play with him online later when you get home? (Nintendo Switch version)

Ive been a hardcore D2 player back in the days. (Still have my lvl99 necro with items like 08 Valk and Btal)... anyway.
I was looking at Diablo 3 on the Nintendo switch for a while. Unlike the PC version, I know that you can play in offline mode. I wonder if you can play a character in offline mode and than bring him to play online ? Or do you have to start a character over again when you hop online?

Playing solo survival world offline, can enter text in the text-chat for myself, but the ‘chatlog’ disappears/erases when I save & quit. Can I access those old logs or have them continue from where I left off? (Bedrock on Nintendo switch)

Pretty new player still, I can’t figure out if this is something I can do. I like to use the chat box for documenting coordinates of things like my base, explorer bases I’ve made away from my main, cool caves to check later, etc. It’s just so much nicer (read: aggressively lazier) than using IRL papea phone note/screenshots with coordinates like I have been. Like I said, I can see all the text that I input during one session, but once I save and quit, the text is all wiped from the thing when I load the game back up. Is there any way to keep that log, either continuing it on the screen/preventing it being wiped or saving the log somewhere? Thanks for any info!

To be clear, I'd still wholly recommend this version of 3D World even without Bowser's Fury. The tweaks are small overall, and Bowser's Fury isn't going to sate the most hardcore of Mario fans looking for a brand new game, but the package as a whole is magical. If you were one of the many who missed out on this Wii U classic, fix that.
Digitally Downloaded - Matt Sainsbury - 5 / 5 stars
An exceptional first release for Nintendo in 2021
GamesBeat - Mike Minotti - 5 / 5 stars
You can play a lot of 3D Mario games on your Switch. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is just as good as any of them. It contains makes the Wii U game feel better than you remember, and the bonus campaign makes the package one of the best ports Nintendo has brought to the Switch.
God is a Geek - Adam Cook - 10 / 10
Despite multiplayer now being online, it still feels superfluous, but otherwise Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury might just be one of those fabled "perfect" games.
Impulsegamer - Chris O'Connor - 5 / 5
Revisit some classic Mario gaming with some added elements to bring it some new life.
Nintendo Life - Chris Scullion - 10 / 10
Super Mario 3D World remains one of the better linear Mario games, and anyone playing it for the first time is in for an absolute treat. Add to that the curious bonus adventure that is Bowser's Fury and you've got a package that provides great value for money. It isn't without its flaws, but most of these (online multiplayer, repetitive missions in Bowser's Fury) relate to the new additions; the main game itself remains as pure and perfect as it was seven years ago. Had it just been Super Mario 3D World on its own, we'd be thoroughly recommending it anyway; Bowser's Fury is just the cherry on top.
VG247 - Alex Donaldson - 5 / 5 stars
Bowser’s Fury is a short experience – it’ll take a competent player a couple of hours to see all it has to offer, and a few hours more to drive it all the way to 100% completion – but it’s completely worthwhile. It has some great surprises, which is why I talk about it in such generalized terms. Bowser’s Fury would’ve made a great download-only, budget-price stand-alone – so as a bonus included with an already excellent game, its value can’t really be overstated.
Atomix - Alberto Desfassiaux - Spanish - 98 / 100
The best way to play on of the greatest Mario's games. Also, Bowser's Fury is an ambitious expansion with a lot of new ideas.
PowerUp! - Leo Stevenson - 9.8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a showcase of the game design mastery which has made Nintendo the best in the business.
Areajugones - David Cruz - Spanish - 9.5 / 10
‎This is one of the best platforms in history, and its expansion is by no means a minor content, since at some times it shines with more personality than the original title. In short, an indispensable pack has played the video game on Wii U or not, and one of the most essential works of your Nintendo Switch.‎
Cerealkillerz - Manuel Barthes - German - 9.5 / 10
Although Super Mario 3D World is only an implementation for Nintendo Switch, it has not lost any of its charm and ingenuity. The loving optimization for the benefit of the gaming experience, as well as the bonus adventure Bowser's Fury, are convincing across the board and promise fun for up to four players. Even some questionable level designs can hardly tarnish the overall picture.
Nintendo Blast - Eduardo Comerlato - Portuguese - 9.5 / 10
Super Mario Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a package that offers two different ways to experience one of the best 3D Mario adventure, making it ideal for the franchise’s 35th anniversary celebration. There is no doubt that the game is a two-way diversion, able to preserve elements of the past and paint majestic novelties around it, as Bowser Jr. does with his paintbrush in the new and fascinating Bowser’s Fury.
SECTOR.sk - Matúš Štrba - Slovak - 9.5 / 10
Super Mario 3D World is still great, fun and really rich in content. Bowser's Fury adds new layers of gampleay inspired by Sunshine to enjoy.
The Games Machine - Stefano Calzati - Italian - 9.5 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is an explosive pack. 3D World returns with an improved pace, while retaining the stellar gameplay that characterized it when it first launched, and of course being still as hilarious as it was back then. Bowser's Fury takes the lesson a step further, creating a small and dense open world that will put you to the test with a sense of urgency unlike any other Super Mario game. The result, needless to say, is pure, unadulterated joy.
Game Informer - Brian Shea - 9.3 / 10
This package combines tried-and-true gameplay and level design with unique concepts (plus an all-new game) to earn its place among the elite games in the franchise
Hobby Consolas - David Martinez - Spanish - 93 / 100
It´s not one, but two great platformers for Nintendo Switch. One of the greatest Wii U games (with improvement such as online multiplayer and photo mode) and a new Mario 3D game, not as big and ambitious as previous games, but equally fun and full of surprises.
Spaziogames - Valentino Cinefra - Italian - 9.3 / 10
If you love platforming (and cats) this is an absolute gem.
Video Chums - A.J. Maciejewski - 9.2 / 10
Super Mario 3D World is an excellent game so if you still haven't played it or simply want it on Switch, this will make a wonderful addition to your gaming library. Oh, and you also get a fantastic bonus game with Bowser's Fury so how could you go wrong?
Wccftech - Rosh Kelly - 9.1 / 10
Super Mario 3D World shows why Mario is an ageless franchise, with the seven-year-old game providing fresh fun and a delightful experience. Bowser's Fury is the exact opposite, showing just how exciting and experimental the series can be.
Critical Hit - Brad Lang - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D is a great game to play solo or with friends and shows off some of Nintendo's best level design yet, while Bowser's Fury is an inventive take on the Mario formula that's more generous with its content than it ought to be. Both games make for a fantastic bundle and should be checked out by fans and non-fans alike.
Forbes - Ollie Barder - 9 / 10
Overall, this is a fantastic collection of Super Mario games. From the focused and demanding Super Mario 3D World to the more experimental, though still very well executed, open world take for Bowser’s Fury. Both games have a lot to offer and will keep you very busy unlocking their innermost secrets.
GAMES.CH - Benjamin Braun - German - 90 / 100
Bowser's Fury is much more than just a bonus . Despite it is relatively short, it still feels like a fully fleshed Mario jump and run. Packed with the great main game including the long missed online co-op mode Super Mario 3D World + Bowers's Fury is a must have for every Switch user.
GameMAG - Александр Копанев - Russian - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury for Nintendo Switch effectively handles two important tasks: introducing new players to the classic game that came from the Wii U, as well as pleasing hungry fans with new great content. Definitely a must-play for all Super Mario fans!
GamePro - Tobias Veltin - German - 90 / 100
Super Mario 3D World is still a real fun package with no signs of ageing, which is made even more rewarding by Bowser's Fury.
GameSpew - Kim Snaith - 9 / 10
Aside from some repetition between the two titles, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a joy from start to finish.
GameSpot - Steve Watts - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury packages one of the best recent Mario games with a delightfully odd new experience.
Gameblog - Thomas Pillon - French - 9 / 10
Thans to its many clever tweaks, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury give the player many reasons to enjoy a great 3D platformer, now a little bit faster, and with friends around the globe online. Let's not forget Bowser's Fury, a tiny open world adventure which rightfully mixes gameplays from the Wii U and Switch episodes, and delivers a strong experience with a twist.
GamesRadar+ - Sam Loveridge - 4.5 / 5 stars
Quirky, creative, and constant good fun, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury blends Mario gameplay old and new with great success, creating a title that feels worthy of his 35th birthday celebrations.
Geeks & Com - Anthony Gravel - French - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury offers much more than your regular Switch port with a brand new adventure that packs between 5 and 8 hours of great new original content. I loved my time spent in this new open world of Bowser's Fury and going through 3D World a second time sure was a blast. Hopefully, this new package gives the game the second life that it truly deserves.
IGN Italy - Mattia Ravanelli - Italian - 9 / 10
Simple and immediate, beautiful to see and fun even in multiplayer, Super Mario 3D World is the "what if" of the history of Super Mario. But with obvious limitations compared to Super Mario Odyssey and the other chapters in 3D. Bowser's Fury tries to beat new paths, without avoiding a few slips.
Metro GameCentral - 9 / 10
One of the best modern Super Mario titles is made that little bit better and accompanied by a brand-new game that bends the formula in new and exciting ways.
NintendoWorldReport - Neal Ronaghan - 9 / 10
If you've never played 3D World before or haven't touched it since the Wii U days, this is well worth the price of admission. Prospects get a little tougher if you're not interested in going through 3D World, because while Bowser's Fury is amazing, it's still approximately less than 10 hours of gameplay even if you do everything. But no matter what: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury might be one of the strongest Mario games available on Switch. The base game is fun and varied, while Bowser's Fury offers a distinctive, inventive, and superb open-world 3D Mario experience.
PCMag - Jordan Minor - 4.5 / 5 stars
Super Mario 3D World is an incredible and underplayed Wii U adventure that's now available on Switch. But Bowser’s Fury steals the show with its exciting and fresh take on a 3D Mario game.
Press Start - Shannon Grixti - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a fantastic package that showcases what makes Nintendo games so special. Super Mario 3D World is just as good as when it released, and Bower's Fury is a surprisingly good standalone adventure that paves the way for the future of Mario.
Screen Rant - Riley Little - 4.5 / 5 stars
Bowser's Fury adds so much to the Wii U port.
Stevivor - Ben Salter - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a delightful double act. Super Mario 3D World holds up well, and offers a unique multiplayer experience that works particularly well on Switch. Its opening worlds are designed to cater for that varied audience, while the second half injects some much needed difficulty and is best played solo. Bowser’s Fury is experimental in nature, and offers something completely different with a fully open world housing plenty of Shines to collect at a rapid pace. While neither quite reaches the dizzying heights of Super Mario Galaxy or Odyssey, it is a double dose of Mario doing things differently, and a fitting finale to Super Mario’s 35th anniversary.
The Digital Fix - Stephen Hudson - 9 / 10
Near-perfect platforming, gorgeous visuals and a joy-filled soundtrack make Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury one of the best Mario titles of all time, and an essential purchase for all Switch owners.
TheGamer - Dave Aubrey - 4.5 / 5 stars
Ultimately, Super Mario 3D World, in this package, is the best that game has ever been, with the increased speed and ease of multiplayer access making it far more enticing than ever before. Bowser’s Fury, meanwhile, is essentially the Super Mario Odyssey DLC that never was. It feels like Odyssey’s level and game design sensibilities, but placed in the Super Mario 3D World game engine, with all of the power-ups and quirks that game has to make something truly unique. Putting both of these games in one package is the best decision that Nintendo has made in a long while, as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is one of the best Mario offerings available on Nintendo Switch, which is lofty praise given the existence of Super Mario Maker 2. Now it just needs the option to play again, but as Luigi.
TheSixthAxis - Jason Coles - 9 / 10
I can't really recommend Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury enough. Whether you've played the original game before or not, the addition of online multiplayer is a big win, while Bowser's Fury is a testament to just how pure a Mario game can be while still feeling fresh and exciting. Put simply; this is an essential game for Mario fans.
TrustedReviews - Jade King - 4.5 / 5 stars
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is both a welcome return for a platforming classic and a novel expansion of what made the game so special back on the Wii U. There's a solid chance that millions of players missed out on its excellence back in 2013, so now is the perfect time to take it for a spin.
Twinfinite - Chris Jecks - 4.5 / 5
The real star of the show, however, was Bowser’s Fury, which innovates on the foundations laid by previous 3D titles, to provide some of the most enjoyable, open-world platforming I’ve had the pleasure of playing. This is a must-buy for Switch owners and Mario fans alike and is sure to tide you over the next couple of months.
Everyeye.it - Marco Mottura - Italian - 8.8 / 10
As the title itself indicates, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury proves to be more than just the re-proposal in Nintendo Switch sauce of an exclusive Wii U not particularly lucky: the idea of inserting for once a completely new extra is very appreciable, and you find the ideas inside Bowser's Fury are not lacking at all. While the difference in tone and gameplay between the two games is quite right, the overall superiority of Super Mario 3D World over the new adventure is also evident, which ends up being an appendix or little more. The effect is that of a very solid pairing, which once again celebrates the undisputed supremacy of the Great N in the platforming field.
IGN Spain - David Soriano - Spanish - 8.8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World has aged quite well. It is still a very enjoyable adventure, updated in its rhythm and different enough from Super Mario Odyssey for those who came to Switch without going through Wii U to discover it. The big surprise is Bowser's Fury, which transcends the concept of simple DLC and adds mechanics and novelties of epic dimensions.
AusGamers - Kosta Andreadis - 8.6 / 10
It's also as strange as Mario's team-up with a sentient hat that for some reason lets him Being John Malkovich a dinosaur.
COGconnected - James Paley - 80 / 100
These two titles offer distinct, yet familiar, Mario experiences.
Checkpoint Gaming - Tom Quirk - 8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is an excellent case for why Nintendo should be porting more Wii U games to the Switch. With its improved presentation and the convenience of the Switch, this is definitely the optimal way to play Super Mario 3D World, even without much in the way of new features. Bowser’s Fury is also an excellent open-world Mario mini-adventure, which is probably worth the price of admission on its own. Admittedly, the multiplayer features some camera issues, particularly in Bowser’s Fury. However, that should not stop Mario fans of all ages from checking out Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, especially if they missed out on this much loved platformer the first time around.
Cubed3 - Az Elias - 8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World may not have had much added to it aside from an online function that is limited to only saving progress for the host, but it didn't necessarily need much else. Nintendo successfully found a way to evolve the 2D classics without going open world, and the result is one of the most consistently fresh and enjoyable games around, which, despite lacking the challenge of the NES games, has something for just about everyone. The bonus Bowser's Fury solo adventure is an absolute delight with a brilliant core idea that adds a crazy tension to Mario platforming, but it is hard to present a case for purchasing this pack just to play it. Whilst full of great content, it is too short-lived to feel worth the asking price, and really needs a standalone purchase option. When taking both games into account for those that have not played the original Wii U title, though, this is a cracking bundle of Mario goodness that encapsulates what everyone knows and still loves about the moustachioed hero after an enduring thirty-five years.
Daily Mirror - James Ide - 4 / 5 stars
Bowser's Fury offers some great new ideas and is much more than a simple DLC. It's a great Mario game in its own right, with enough to entice those who played 3D World before with a wholly new and compelling experience, as well as offering one of the most epic showdowns in Nintendo history.
Bowser's Fury is a great take on 3D Mario and finally makes Bowser the menacing villain he deserves to be. The game's only flaw is that it left me wishing there was more of it.
EGM - Michael Goroff - 8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is the Wii U port that Switch owners have been waiting for. Besides the inclusion of online multiplayer, 3D World is the same good game that players already experienced on the Wii U, and fans of the series who missed it the first time around will enjoy its hybridization of 2D and 3D Mario gameplay. But the highlight of the package is Bowser's Fury, a scaled-down but surprisingly robust mini 3D Mario game that actually takes some chances.
Enternity.gr - Leonidas Mastellos - Greek - 8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury achieves its goal as a package and not as individual experiences

This Switch remaster of the Wii U outing for Nintendo's famous plumber comes with online co-op and the strangest Mario adventure yet
LevelUp - Fernando Salinas - Spanish - 7.5 / 10
Glyph brings together the simplest form of platforms and puzzles in one package. It is an entertaining experience that shines for its simplicity. Although it falls short in scope, it fulfills the most important thing: is fun to play.
Washington Post - Jhaan Elker - 75 / 100
Even with the Bowser’s Fury miss, the content is worth it. If you want one of the best and most versatile multiplayer experiences to date for the Nintendo Switch, online or offline, go with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
CGMagazine - Jordan Biordi - 7 / 10
I don’t think Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury annoys me as much as it did on the Wii U, since the Switch already has the best Mario ever made on it; and I do think there is fun to be had with these games, even though I find them to be fairly frustrating. I would still recommend them if you enjoyed the originals, or maybe wanted to play them with younger gamers. Even though I might not go back to it very often, I don’t regret the time spent with it.
IGN - Cam Shea - 7 / 10
Two solid platformers in one; neither of which approaches the franchise's most dizzying heights.
Ars Technica - Kyle Orland - Unscored
Bowser’s Fury works just fine as an added bonus packaged with an under-appreciated platforming gem from the Wii U era. If you’ve never played 3D World before, this is a great chance to catch up on a fresh take on 3D Mario design. If you’re mainly interested in Bowser’s Fury, though, maybe wait until the strong ideas get expanded into a full, standalone game.
Console Creatures - Bobby Pashalidis - Recommended
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury might include the same game that was on the Wii U but it's also a title that needs to be experienced by everyone who owns a Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is essentially the same game on Switch that some of you may have experienced on Wii U. While there’s no denying that the new hardware can’t keep up with the game’s ambitions at times, this bundle is at its core another fantastic Mario experience.

How I shipped my game solo on consoles & how you can do that too (Q & A)

After a good launch for my game, i started to get some random questions from users across all the channels, but there were one user on reddit (u/TamoorGames) who had many questions and he sent them in a very nice and organized way (mostly asking about the Xbox and Nintendo Switch for each question), i did answer him. Although i own the answers, i did ask his permission to put his questions alongside my answers in public, just in case it can help someone. So, Enjoy it, and feel free to AMA.

Q.1: Have you signed up as Individual or as a company? Or enrolled into Xbox Creator Program? Can you please share the overall process in a quick brief.
- Singed by myself for both platforms, i only had to contact the ID@Xbox team, show them my game, they first didn't approve it as it was not polished enough, so i did try once more time after a couple of years, and then it was approved, and everything started from there. No not Creator Program, and tbh i don't even know what is Creator Program, will google it later.
For Nintendo, I did reach out the Nindies guy who was always on the youtube videos and on twitter (he left by now, a new guy came, and that new guy just left a year ago or so). But in general, this is how i showed my game, just reaching out the nindies team leader.
==================================================================================
Q.2: From which country you’d signed up? Is the Xbox Developer program available for developers all around the world? I’ll signup from Pakistan
- I did from China while I'm not Chinese, i would say Microsfot is the most open company, they don't have per region issues, like for example if you are in China and try to sort things with Sony or Nintendo, it won't be that easy...not at all. Because you've then to go through Japan office (due to region), but then you targeting the western market and English only game...it becomes a lot of communications and troubles.
==================================================================================
Q.3: Can we publish any game on Xbox? Or first we need to get concept approval from Xbox and then we can start our development. Or does Xbox have any categories on which we can only develop our games? e.g. shooting, puzzle etc
- While the certain answer for this question is not from me, but I would say any game. Xbox & Switch are platforms, mostly for gaming, despite the fact there are some apps in there (YouTube, Netflix,...etc.) so whatever your game genre or type is, I'm sure if they like it they won't mind it on their platform.
==================================================================================
Q.4: Which Game engine have you used to develop your game? I am using UNITY. Is it good for Xbox or i’ve to consider any other game engine?
- Unreal. Any Engine is good for any platform. Don't let the engine be your biggest issue, we're are in 2020, all Engines are great and most of them are cross platform. if you are not so confident about Unity, you can just remember it made Cuphead, Ori franchise, Max & Magic Marker, and many more Xbox exclusives. And if we start thinking about Unity games made for Switch, we will have endless list! Even more than Unreal based titles, as Unity already prove that it is super optimized engine for Nintendo devices since the WiiU and 3ds.
==================================================================================
Q.5: Can you please share the list of Hardware that you used for Xbox development and testing? E.g. Does Xbox have their own development kit or we can test our game on any Xbox? Which Xbox you used?
- Yes, i used devkits. With that said, i learned that any Xbox One (consumer device) can be turned to a devkit mode. I tested my game on Xbox One S & Xbox one X (the weakest and the Powerful one, so i can grantee the performance).
For Nintendo, i can't explain what hardware i did use, but once you are approved you've access to the documentations where you can read about the different hardware types, and then you can based on your use and game type or development type request the hardware that you need.
But all in all, for any platform, you need their hardware (aka devkit). And at least one device per platform.
==================================================================================
Q.6: What are the main reasons for rejection from Xbox? And what factors do I need to consider while developing my game?
- If you mean rejected as a project to be released on the platform, I guess when my game rejected first time, because it hasn't a "Full playable loop". Start, Play, End, Restart if you want. It was a punch of levels, not connected, no UI & lots of Debug menus. Xbox team (or any other platform) they need a very clean and clear vision so they can decide..
==================================================================================
Q.7: What kind of Legal document and other Document Xbox require? This will help me to save time by preparing in advance.
- Most of the documents as far as i can remember, they send to you. You don't produce documents, you just read and sign (of course if you find it make sense and nothing against your goals or considerations). Xbox was the least demanding, Nintendo was fine, no magical papers were requested. But Sony for example would require your last fiscal year revenue breakdown and documents to proof that!
==================================================================================
Q.8: Do Xbox have their own tools for leaderboard, cloud, ranking & in-app purchases?
- Any Xbox player already know, all that called Xbox Live (which is a set of services), and most of the engines does have high level interface to deal with those services. Don't worry :) and there is always documentations and pages to help you, either at Xbox websites or at the engine (Unity at your case) site.
For Nintendo it is different, i don't have any online features in my game, because online in Nintendo is treated differently, where any user on Xbox have online access and online features, in Nintendo the online features you purchase as a product (per month, per year,...etc.), so it is common to find many games doesn't have leaderboard or clouds save,...etc.
But again, all engines already have the high level interface for those features, regardless you will support them or no.
==================================================================================
Q.9: Can you please share the complexities of the Xbox development as you’d mentioned in your message? Like which development steps i can follow to avoid delays and rejections (Any Tips and Tricks)
- I was already familiar with the platform[s] (remember I'm already a game engine programmer), but what was new and seemed complex to me was the "rules" of the platform. Those are things you must read about at your first days of developing for the platform, due to NDA i can't talk further about that. But what i meant by the rules it is for example how to save, when to save, for example a platform would give you limit/bandwidth for saving calls per second, where other platform won't care and give you unlimited calls. Or what is the status of a player while playing (online/offline), some platforms won't care, where others would care a lot about that. Can a player change account while playing or not, some platforms would require, where others would not even allow.....etc. those are thing that vary between the different platforms, and they were the reason for any rejection i had (the ignorance of the rules). Because even if your game is already complete and finished before the port, the port to a platform is not just hit "Build", you have to "re-adapt" the game for the platform.
==================================================================================
Q.10: What advice would you like to give yourself, if you are starting today as an Xbox Developer?
- Don't rush things. And try to "Understand" the reason behind any thing in the platform. If you just adapt the game for the platform rules, you will have lots of complications, because you could make something to fit a rule, but it break with another rule. If you understand perfectly the platform, and the reason behind everything, you will not suffer during development.
==================================================================================
Q.11: What are the things you wished you knew when you were starting as an Xbox Developer?
- as i said, the platform set of rules. It takes time to know them correctly.
==================================================================================
Q.12: Can you please share any other tips and tricks or would like to add any point/Question if i am missing?
- just focus on the game more than on what platforms you need to target. If your game is good, solid, bug free, the platform stuff won't take much time. Also some info about how to be recognized by platforms could be changed, I've been Nintendo developer for long time, even before the Switch device announced, and I've been Xbox developer since 2014 i guess, when the ID program was announced. So things might be different, might be easier or might be harder now, not quite sure.

Is it worth to buy a banned Switch?

I found a banned Nintendo Switch for 120€. I checked the Serialnumber and its not patched. Can I jailbreak it and play all games offline?

All of the changes/improvements/additions I want to see in MKT!

Hi all! I really enjoy Mario Kart Tour. I love playing it, strategizing what to do with my tickets and rubies, chatting with people online about MKT, etc. However, I can’t pretend it’s a perfect game. The game has improved drastically since its launch, but Nintendo refuses to listen to their fans and add simple changes to the game, that would benefit us, and oftentimes Nintendo. So, I’ve compiled a list of all the changes/improvements/additions that I want to be made to Mario Kart Tour. These are in no particular order. Hope you enjoy!
Add More Standard Challenges
Most people who have been playing for 6+ months have all the challenges completed. Challenges were an excellent way to motivate players to play more and to reward those who do so, and they added goals to work towards. They’ve added the Expert Challenges, which are cool, but not what we want, and the New Year’s Challenges were nice as well, but we want permanent challenges that give us ruby rewards.
Pick which course in multiplayer rooms
When playing online multiplayer, you play through the cups of a random cup that changes every 15 minutes. That is fine during online multiplayer, but this happens when in a room also. The host should be able to pick the track to race on (as long as it’s in the current tour). It would make multiplayer with friends so much more fun. To contradict the problem of people coordinating to get high scores, just remove the scoring system, or make the scores you get in rooms not actually count.
Add a “Courses” icon to the menu
An icon labeled “Courses” would be added to the menu, and when clicked on, it would display all the courses in the game. It would put all the courses in the current tour in one section, and the others in another section. You can click on a course to see all of the variants of that course, and you can click on the variants to see the top shelf for D/K/G, and what you have. This would be helpful for those who want to see what top shelf they have for tracks not in the current tour, as well as many other uses.
Allow us to see player level of opponents in ranked
IDK why this isn’t available already, you can see the Player Level of those in your friend's list, why not opponents? It would be nice to see opponents' Player Level and compare it to yours, so you can estimate a score for yourself in ranked.
Fix the ranked matchups
Players should be matched up with people in their same tier, and with those who can get similar scores to them. It’s that simple.
Add something for players to do in the last few days of a tour
The last few days of a tour are always a drag, as you have every cup completed, all the challenges done, and all the pipes and changes are out, and you are just waiting for the next tour. So, something should be added for players to do the last few days of a tour! I saw a concept on here about "Completion Challenges", where the last few days a tour you get a challenge each day with increasing rewards. Anyway, something like that.
Add full landscape mode
I love the addition of landscape mode. It is amazing for screenshots, and it is fun to use when playing multiplayer, even if it isn’t good when going for points. However, it is really annoying having to switch from portrait mode when starting a race, to landscape mode during the race, to portrait mode after the race, and over, and over, and over. So, the whole game should be compatible with landscape mode to make it easier for those who use landscape mode often.
Make auto mode more customizable
I love auto mode, I use it to take some great screenshots. However, there are a lot of changes I would like made to make it a better tool for taking photos. First of all, we should be able to choose how many racers are going to be in the auto mode race, and the D/K/G for each one. This way, if we want a pic of just one D/K/G, we don’t have to deal with other racers photobombing, and so we can take some group photos with D/K/G of our choice. Also, I would like an option to control a driver in auto mode, so that I can take the driver wherever I want to get the best screenshot.
If you have a D/K/G maxed out in Tier Shop, replace it with a ticket
It’s annoying when you have a super or high end at Level 6, then it appears in the Tier Shop, because it is just an empty space now. If an item that appears in the Tier Shop is maxed out, it should be replaced with a Skill Up Ticket of the same type for the normal price, for example, a Level 6 King Boo would be replaced with a Super Driver Ticket that costs 3k coins.
Add fewer alts and more unique drivers
Nintendo almost always does an amazing job with the alts, gotta give them credit for that, they put time and effort into these alts. But we would always appreciate a brand new driver more than an alt. We’ve gotten Pauline and Peachette at launch, Birdo during Holiday, the Bros during Hammer Bro, Dixie during Jungle, Monty during Flower, Nabbit during Wild West, and King-Bomb Omb during Pirate Tour, but nothing since then. Imagine Honey Queen, Petey Piranha, Paratroopa, or Wiggler from the older games, and brand new drivers like Pianta, Spike, Gooigi, Egad, Luma, Toadsworth, and of course Kamek. Kamek getting into MKT is the Mario Kart equivalent of Waluigi in Smash. Please Nintendo, we want new characters.
Add more normals
I’ve been playing since launch, haven’t spent too much money on the game, and I have every single normal at Level 6, except for a few karts. Pipe pulls are a lot less fun now, as every normal I just get coins, and I have nothing to spend my common tickets on. So, we should get at least 2 new common drivers, 2 new common karts, and 2 new common gliders. These will be available in the shop and in the pipes.
Allow us to have more than 50 friends
Not a huge buff, just maybe from 50 friends to 75 friends or some such, it’s time for an upgrade.
Fix the multiplayer
I love doing multiplayer with friends, but there are some big issues. I'll be playing with someone in the same room as me, and Ill throw a green shell and hit them, even get the points for it, but they get back up like it never happened, and on their screen the green shell missed. This is frustrating, so this needs to be fixed.
Tone down the aggressiveness of the bots on certain tracks
As you all know, on certain tracks (Royal Raceway, RMX courses, Berlin Byways, etc.) the bots are extra aggressive, always dragging you and rubber banding and such. Just tone them down Nintendo, it’ll be easy and it won’t hurt you.
Allow us to sort D/K/G list by what we have
There are so many D/K/G now, especially karts, and scrolling through them takes forever, especially trying to find once certain item. We should be able to sort the D/K/G just by what we have, only the D/K/G we have will appear.
(Minor) Bring back more old D/K/G
This is minor, but Nintendo should bring back more of the old D/K/G. We haven’t seen Yoshi Egg Hunt since the last easter, Daisy Yukata since Summer Festival, Choco Macharon since Cooking, Happy Ride since Peach, Chocolate Banana Crepe since Cooking, and Le Tricolre since I think Paris Tour back in 2019. I’m just scraping the tip of the iceberg here, there are tons of D/K/G that haven’t appeared in months, especially karts and gliders. They are getting better at this, bringing back Santa Mario, Reindeer Yoshi, and their karts and gliders, along with Ice Blue Poltergust which hadn’t been seen since Ice, etc. But, more would be appreciated.
(Minor) Controller Compatibility
This is once again minor, but some controller compatibility would be nice to have, maybe with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or Joy-Cons. This wouldn't be that helpful for scoring purposes, but if you are doing some multiplayer or such, propping your phone up sideways and playing with a controller would be surreal! You could also screen share with your TV if that is an option, so you could play MKT on a TV with a controller, which would be amazing!
Recommended by u/Sebba869, Show how much XP each course has left, Remove 99 coin per race limit,
Recommended by u/dtra33, Add the option to remove the reverse camera button
Recommended by u/FreeToLose, Remove the token shop after you've completed it
Recommended by u/Gusty_Wind, Let us use Level Up tickets more than one at time
Recommended by u/almogaver_bot, Allow us to see the actual Tier of players in our ranked groups, Allow us to see all the karts and gliders of ranked opponents
Additional notes by me, Add the option to put the SteeDrift button on the right hand side in landscape mode to benefit people who are right handed, Allow us to buy items in the Event Shop more than one at a time, Add a replay feature, Add a feature to download courses so we can race them offline ALSO ADD A FREAKING COMBO METER!
Wow, that was a long list! Hopefully most, if not all, of these suggestions will come true in 2021, but I’m not counting on it. Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and tell me if you think I should add something to the list, I’ll add it as soon as I can!

Am I the only one who doesn't care about graphics?

Hello everyone,
I hope you are all doing well during this Covid-19 crisis and take care of all of your family and friends!
I have been a gamer since my young childhood, and I love them since it is a good way to relax when I am stressed. I will always defend video games for the positive effects they can have on our minds.

Why I am writing this?

I have noticed something really severe: most people now care only about graphics. They want to know which is the most powerful between PS5 and XBOX Series X. And they will buy only games with beautiful graphics. I am playing newer and older games, and I feel like why people care about graphics. I have been playing Super Mario World and Super Metroid on the Switch's SNES Online, and it was more rewarding and satisfying than most nowadays games I have been playing. By seeing how the gaming community behaves, I believe it tends to focus only on graphics and nothing else. When I want to buy a game, I don't even care about the graphics, and I have the feeling I am the only one who focuses on gameplay, music, art style, etc. Am I the only one?

The Delusion about FPS/Graphics

At least 20 or 30 FPS is good. I understand if someone wants to play at 60 FPS, but this should not be mandatory in my opinion. And then who cares about 120 fps or 240 fps? Your eyes don't even see the difference. I know sometimes games need some precise input so my best compromise would be 30 FPS for offline and relax games, and 60 FPS for online games with tournaments for example. I don't understand when people tend to buy the best resources for their PC. Games don't need 8K and 240 fps to be enjoyable. But yeah, this is your money and you do whatever you want with it, I am not your mother ;).

The most powerful is NOT the winner

If you look at each "war" generation console, the most powerful console always failed. But remember that there were never console war. Only one during Nintendo and SEGA during the beginning of the 1990s. Sony VS Microsoft is nothing compared to what happened then.

Graphics is different than Art Style

Don't confuse graphics and art style. the Pokémon series, or Zelda: Breath of the Wild, has awful graphics but an awesome art style. The games have bad graphics, but the character design, the level design, the way everything is drawn is beautiful. However, we are not talking about art style here.

People who tell me Graphics are important

If you are going to tell me graphics are essential because when you play, you need to look at a fantastic landscape. A video game is something you play through. If you just sit and look at the landscape, I'm sorry but this is not a video game since you are not playing, this is just panorama. This is not playing, you just watch beautiful pictures. Photography is different than video games, even both are considered art. I would ask you what is a video game for you? For me, a video game is the gaming interaction between the human and the video of a machine. No questions about graphics. This is called a video game, and not video watching or anything like that. If you need to look at beautiful backgrounds, you can go on Google Images, and look for high-resolution pictures (Settings > Advanced Research).

Games with bad Graphics are Bad?

My favorite question to beat the people who only care about graphics is: Why retrogaming exists if graphics are so important? This is not nostalgia or anything like that, I am born during the Gamecube/PS2 era and I didn't even know how the 1980s or the 1990s were in terms of video games. (I wish I could have been here when Final Fantasy VII and Pokémon Red/Blue were released). And can you tell why Minecraft is the best selling game of all time?

Conclusion

To conclude, of course, I agree this is cool if you have good graphics, but people need to stop worship graphics and giving all of their attention to this instead of focusing on gameplay, music, etc. This should not be a criterion to define the quality of a game in my opinion. Can someone tell me this is just me who is a toxic hater, or if someone feels like me? Maybe I am just stupid so I would like that someone can correct the wrong things that I believe in.
Thanks a lot for reading my very long message and have fun playing the wonderful video games we can have in 2021! Remember video games are the most prolific media, far ahead of the cinema or the books.
TL;DR: Am I the only one who is noticing people only care about graphics? I want to know if I am just a toxic hater who doesn't understand what the gaming industry needs right now, or if I am on the contrary smart enough to understand video games are not based only on graphics.

FAQ to help new users know where to start and what software to choose

Q. Can my Switch / Serial number be hacked? A. Check here: https://ismyswitchpatched.com/ If it shows as unpatched then its hackable out of the box, regardless of firmware. If its patched then you will need a modchip. ALL Mariko (red box) and Lites are patched.

Q. How do I mod my hackable system? I don't know what guides to use
A. Use this guide specifically for entering RCM. Do not use this guide to set up cfw if you intend to pirate games, it does not include things like sigpatches or installers which you will need. Use Birb's guide to set up your modded system once you are in RCM. Do NOT use video guides. They are generally full of misinformation, outdated information, bad advice and stupid configurations.

Q. How do I prevent bans? A. Keep your sysnand completely clean, only use homebrew/backup games on your emunand and make sure you either have incognito installed on the emunand or its completely offline.

Q. What is an emunand? A. Its essentially a copy of your system that can be modified separately of the original. If you install homebrew to one of them it wont affect the other. Emunand is NOT the same as cfw.

Q. What happens if I get banned? A. Youll lose access to playing games online and accessing the eshop. Generally accounts are not banned and you can still update the system through nintendo, although this is discouraged.

Q. How do I update? A. Download the latest compatible firmware here https://lmgtfy.app/?q=darthsternie Extract to a folder on your sd card, named firmware for example. Then select the folder in your updater app (for atmosphere its recommended you use daybreak, for sxos choidujournx is the usual app). Choose the exfat firmware regardless of sd format.

Q. What format should my sd card be? A. Fat32

Q. But how do I install big games from a fat32 sd card? A. Most people either install over a usb cable (with tinfoil and nut or awoo and nsusbloader) or over shops. If you dont have a usb cable, ftp works as well.

Q. What are shops? A. Shops are basically online collections of games that you can browse and install similarly to how you would on the eshop. They are accessed through tinfoil.

Q. What cfw should I choose? What are the pros and cons? A. Atmosphere is the popular choice right now. Its pros include being free, constantly updated and having a lot of community support. Its cons include not having any out of the box support for installing games, so you need to add sigpatches yourself once they are out.
Sxos is another popular option, and the only option currently for modchip units (although atmosphere is working on support). Its pros include being made directly for piracy, so it supports installing games out of the box and it can load off of external hard drives. Its cons include being paid and being a questionable choice at the moment. Due to multiple members of the group being arrested its unclear if it will receive much more support.
The last modern cfw is reinx. Reinx works out of the box with games and it is free. However it is now no longer being updated and it has fewer features than atmosphere.

Q. Where do I get games from? A. For shops you should check out JITS and Quota shop. Those should provide you with easy and safe access to games. Rebirth is discord server that provides gdrive and tor links to full game stashes for download on pc. Theres multiple websites you can find by googling, and you can find large libraries via torrents. Most torrents and websites will be hosting 'scene' dumps, groups like venom or suxxors, who release privately to ftp servers with other scene groups. These dumps get rehosted to private torrent trackers, and then websites will upload them publicly.

Q. Why are my downloads failing? A. You should probably ask the source of the download. If thats a shop then join the shop discord to ask.

Q. Why wont my switch boot? A. Most likely its in rcm, try injecting a payload. If its not in rcm then its probably just out of battery. Bricking the switch canNOT prevent it from accessing rcm and hekate, so if you cant get into hekate then it isnt bricked. Youre doing something wrong or you broke the physical hardware.

Q. Can I transfer save files between sysnand and emunand? A. Yes. Transferring from sysnand to emunand is easy. When you make the emunand the saves should transfer automatically. After that you can go offline on the sysnand, make a nand backup, run cfw on it to dump the save and then restore the backup. This way the nand will be completely clean. For going the other way around its a bit harder. You can dump the sysnand and inject the same on your computer into the nand before restoring it, but this cannot guarantee you wont get banned.

Q. How do I unhack my switch? A. If you use emunand then its as simple as not booting into rcm. If you use autorcm then disable it in hekate. If you do not use emunand then youll need to format your console with something like this https://github.com/StarDustCFW/Haku33

Q. What are the different game formats? A. The 'standard' format people most often use is nsp. This is the common format used for eshop games. Another common format is xci, which is a gamecart dump. Any cfw can install nsps OR xci to the console to run like an eshop game. However, sxos can also mount xci as if it was a gamecart instead of installing it to the home screen if thats something youre interested in. There is also nsz and xcz, which are compressed versions of nsp and xci which save space and bandwidth. They can be directly installed, the same as nsp and xci, so they are considered objectively better.

Q. What installer should I use? A. Currently theres a few popular installers. The most popular right now is tinfoil, which can be found at tinfoil.io. It has the most features of any of the installers, being able to run shops, manage save games and cheats, link accounts, install incognito, hdd support and much more. It supports installing any of the 4 game formats mentioned above.
Next we have awoo. Awoo is a popular installer that is based on adubbz tinfoil's install code and xortrolls gui. It is the most popular lightweight installer, being able to support every format the same as tinfoil. An alternative to this program would be tinleaf which is also based on the tinfoil install code and xortrolls gui, giving it a similar feel and functionality but without the anime girl theme.
Lastly of the currently used installers we have goldleaf, which is xortrolls spiritual successor to tinfoil. Goldleaf has some features the other two lack, such as a web browser. However it supports the fewest formats, only nsp, and unlike tinfoil and awoo it wont check if a game is modified before installing, so it would be easier to accidentally install a malicious file using goldleaf.

First Time buying any Gaming System.

Ok, so I am a 47 yr old single mother with a 6 yr old daughter. I have never owned a game console In my life. (ok an Atari in the early 80’s, obviously not even close to today’s tech.)
My daughter wants to play with her older cousins but her inexperience with the controllers/games kind of keep her from participating or allowed to participate. So after a lil research I purchased a Nintendo switch for her for Xmas. Even though I’m kind of excited about it myself and am thinking of maybe giving it to her for Thanksgiving because here the school district is off the whole week AND so she get a little familiar with it before Xmas so she can play with her cousins. ( AND.... really Cuz I cant wait to play with it too. Lol).
So i don’t want it to be the blind leading the blind with her and I. I am not familiar with the controllers and because of this Im scared that this large investment is just going to collect dust because no one knows how to use it.
I originally went on YouTube to see what games would fit a 6 yr old, what accessories to get and other basic stuff. The more I learn about Nintendo switch the more I realize I might be out of my league here!! Once you start throwing out phrases like “yearly memberships(Nintendo/just dance)”, “online community/accounts/games”, “joy-cons vs pro controller”, “online/offline gaming”, “cloud vs microSD” etc. I’m a bit obsessive so even though I get the gist of the terms I still have questions. I’m very overwhelmed and kinda unsure where to start. Because I want to know everything I can about the Nintendo switch and I want to learn it in an hour, please. (J/K)
Is there a crash course on using the controllers or a basic game that is a little slow so my 6 yr old and I can get use the various buttons? A cheat sheet? Something??
Any thing else like videos for us older people that are completely gaming ignorant to help us understand play better or good starting points for beginners? I haven’t even opened up the box yet and I’m already stressing out. Any recommendations will be appreciated.
I am really excited to play with my daughter and looking forward to her having fun. I’m use to rules, directions and tutorials. But I hear there isn’t much of that in gaming. It’s more of figure it out as you. Which terrifies me. I don’t want to miss anything in a game. I purchased the these games Bcs they were on sale: LOL Surprise! Cars 3 Just Dance Mario Kart 8/ super Mario party (Dbl Pk) Zumba Ring Fit (Was NOT on sale!)
Wish list- Fitness Boxing 2, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and 1-2 Switch. A few others but these top my list until I YouTube games again and add to the list.
PS- Did I get too many games to start with?
Ok shutting up now. Please help!

Which game should I spent my nintendo voucher?

I have one Nintendo voucher still available, and it expires next march 20. I want to decide on which game to spend it on, but I’m having a difficult time in doing so. Here in my country is just a PAIN to buy a Nintendo game, cause they’re too expensive (NSMBU and Kirby are still arround U$80,00 in any online store at this very moment, for example), so usually I only buy 1 each year, and therefore I prefer something that has a long lifespan and/or a great replayability. Also, do any of you think they could launch a new game between this period till march 20? My library right now include the following (which a I simply love):
Breath of the wild
Mario Odyssey/Tennis/Kart/Party/Rabbids
Smash Ultimate
Animal Crossing
Fire Emblem Three houses
Luigi’s Mansion3

The games available through the voucher, and which picked my interest, are the following:
Super Mario 3D World – Never played it, but I thought it looked a little short after watching a some gameplay and seeing the worlds and how many levels each contain...
Pikmin 3 – Never played any Pikmin, but loved the demo. I aso don’t know if the lifespan or replayability makes it woth it in my case.
Paper Mario – Once again, don’t know about the lifespan (and also how challenging the game is, cause I like some intelligent and difficult strategy games).
Xenoblade – It looks wonderfull, but Smash Ultimate gave me a Spoiler, so I don’t know how much of the game was ruined for me...
Link’s Awakening – Never played the original, but I’ve heard it’s short.
Astral Chain – I’ve tried Wonderfull 101 demo and simply hated the controls, creating some phobia with platinum games, as I’ve seen friends of mine telling that they’re games are quite the ones wich you need to master to really enjoy (I don’t have time to master anything, I just play for fu non some breaks). Anyway... Maybe I’m missing out without knowing.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 – Loved the first, loved the second, but it looks like they decided to keep the bad things and remove the good ones from the previous entries (the many different skills from 1 and the quality of fusion attacks from 2). Maybe I’m being too exagerated and didn’t saw the good aspects of it yet.
Mario Maker 2 – I don’t play online and will not pay for it as well (hence why Splatoon 2 is not on this list [it could have been if it had bots like smash]). I love creation, but thought that it looked too superficial to my taste, given the many power-ups in Mario history that didn’t managed to get in the game. Also, I know that you can only upload 1 Super World online, but can you have as many as you like offline on your Switch? Didn’t found this info anywhere.
Yoshi – Looked short, but I love platformers like this one.
Mario Bros U Deluxe – I love Nintendo level design, but I hear mixed things about the levels in this one. Also, don’t know about it’s lifespan.
Donkey Kong Country – Never played any of those, but once again, lifespan...
Kirby – Loved the N64, but this looks too simple for my taste (and short).
Do you have any suggestions of wich one to get first between those? There’s the eternal rumour about a direct and a collection to celebrate Zelda franchise anniversary this year (I only played Breath of the wild), but I don’t think it will launch before march 20. Appreciate any help!

Recent connectivity issues after firmware update, diagnosing trouble

Trying to determine if this is just network congestion on Nintendo's servers, some new firmware glitch, or aging bad hardware on a first gen Switch. All I'm getting in searches is dummy steps to improve wifi. (Make sure you're in the same room, reboot the router, check your settings, blah blah blah. Yeah I know how to do all that).
Hard to pin down exactly when it started, but I can at least say when I downloaded the borderlands games in late November everything was smooth and fast. I play offline single player, so I haven't really noticed network issues until recently when I turned off airplane mode, and updated my switch.
Late January, downloading the Bravely Default 2 second demo, constant communication errors with the eshop, and then it took forever to download.
Late January, just browsing the eshop it would become unresponsive. Trailers couldn't load. Kept giving me slow or unstable network error (but if I go into network settings and test the network, it's fast and i have good speeds. Not amazing, 35mbs when most my devices get 45-65, but the switch has never had great wifi performance compared to everything else in my house).
Downloading small games like those Artifex Mundi games, I've had to cancel and restart several times as they would just have that X over the status.
This does not change if I use 2.4 or 5 networks, same room as router, no Bluetooth devices within 20 ft (aside from it's own connected controllers), and doing a full shutdown and reboot makes no improvement. (I know it reboots itself after a firmware update anyways, but never hurts to manually try).
Bear in mind I had already done the recommended "improve switch wifi performance" steps before and it was working great. (Changing from 1400 to 1500, etc).
So, I'm trying to determine if this is a result of the firmware, or something on the server end, or just my own personal device (i find that less likely as the network connection test passes with flying colors and I noticed this right after the firmware update.. but I never rule anything out)
Anyone else having issues recently?

Why UI Goku almost ruins the game for me.

Take this with a grain of salt as I suck at this game (only on supreme kai on ranked),but I try to adapt. I run base vegeta ,vegito blue, and base goku.Whenever I face a UI Goku I just rage. The characters kit is too huge. Im washing my opponent the whole game BOOM limit break UI Goku comes out and obliterates me. DBFZ sometimes makes no sense to me as a whole tbh. (This is my first traditional fighter btw)In smash bros there is end lag if u completely miss a move(lets say u wake up level 3 and miss u get stun for a while)In this game u can wake up level 3/full screen super dash and mash into a light auto combo like nothing. It's so frustrating.(correct me if im wrong)Back to UI goku. He has like 3 counters in his kit.The best projectiles i have ever seen too. Some of the best combo extenders in the game and braindead online UI goku players will use unrestrained(the hold r1 move)will every single time they get knocked down. The character is LEAGUES above every other character in the game (at the level I play at). This might be just added salt because I play on Nintendo Switch(imo one of the worst consoles nintendo has put out)The switch has 6 frames average input delay OFFLINE. the pro controllers d-pad registers left and right as up occasionally so it messes up combos all the time. Just a little rant from a noob. Also another problem, Rage quitters/disconnects I honestly think that they should add a system where you rank down for a specific number of rage quits/cant play for (insert time here) its so frustrating to win and then boom they disconnect so u dont get any bp.

3DS or Switch?

I want a handheld console for some gaming, but as I have found out the older Pokemon games are not available on the switch, I'm hesitant to get it now. I see you can still buy them on the 3DS, but I see some posts about it being offline, and some say its still online. I know there are a few free to play games for the switch like paladins, but that would require wifi. Is it worth still getting a 3DS for just Zelda games, Pokemon games, and maybe smash 3DS? Or is it so outdated and unused that it would be pointless? And is sword/shield even worth getting for someone who prefers the older games like silvegold?
Edit: I'd also like to mention that at home, I am a pc gamer. So this is more or less for portable purposes, though, if I got the switch (not the lite) I would likely post videos and stream on youtube. So newer games and such that are not Nintendo related, I'm not really concerned with.
I appreciate any feedback!

SSBU feels like BUTTER

I'm using the latest early access build of yuzu to play smash, and I did what people recommended I do and let a bunch of random lvl 9 CPUs go at it for a couple of hours to get a lot of the shaders compiled so I wouldn't have to deal with stuttering.
I finally started playing myself and... Holy hell, it feels at least a frame or two faster than the switch runs it OFFLINE. The game no longer feels laggy. It literally feels like the buffer system was halfed. It feels incredible. When I was watching a video on how to set it up, I thought I heard the guy say it ran with less input lag, but I kinda just ignored it and didn't think much of it.
Now that I have played 2-3 hours with a couple friends of mine, we all feel the same way. It felt like I was playing Ult for the first time all over again. It was easily the most fun we have had on the game since release. After we all got off, I noticed that I had V-sync on. I can only imagine how responsive it's gonna feel when I try it again without V-sync on.
This game literally runs better on yuzu than it does on it's own home console (minus the little bit of polishing that yuzu needs overall). It's a damn shame Nintendo makes such half baked products. Say what you want about the switch, but truthfully the only thing it has going for it is the fact that it's handheld. It's specs suck for a current gen console, worse than my phones in fact.

Looking for games with great customization

What I want:
  1. The primary gameplay happens in the form of combat (either action/real-time combat or turn-based combat is fine)
  2. The gameplay focuses on one single character that can be elaborately customized. The character need to be able to be customized by appearance (the most important aspect), equipment, and abilities. Or alternatively, it can focus on a deck of cards. (like Hearthstone)
  3. Plenty of aesthetic options (if possible, I want choices instead of sliders since I feel sliders are overwhelming)
  4. There can be party members, but the gameplay need to prioritize the protagonist.
  5. Synergy is a key part of the gameplay - the player need to come up with their own plans on how to deal with the enemies, and the use of equipment and abilities plays a major role in forming a gameplan. The equipment/abilities have to be designed in a way that they can only be effectively used when in conjunction with each other.
  6. The player's primary gameplan/character build does not change drastically throughout the game. The player's character build will need to deal with various situations as they arise rather than constantly changing gameplan before battle to maximize damage output against specific enemies.
  7. Has a clear and definite goal (collect everything, complete every challenge, reach the max level or finish the story)
  8. Has at least a bit of collection focus (equipment, cards)
  9. Has plenty of challenging battles and less grind or mindless button-mashing
  10. Story can be minimal or non-existent
  11. I want at least somewhat good graphics for 3D games and more elaborate artstyles for 2D games (Anime style is fine, but I don't want pixel graphics if possible)
I'm mainly looking for games on PC (Windows) and Mobile (Android - preferably vertical), but I can accept Nintendo Switch and Xbox One suggestions.
Preferably the game is not a Game as a Service or GaaS (like MMOs or most mobile games), in other words, it will not receive big/regular content updates and can be played offline.
If it has to be a GaaS, then the entirety of the game should be able to be played in single-playesolo.
I know that my request probably sounds way too ridiculous, so it's okay if a suggestion doesn't check all the boxes, but I want to prioritize on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th point.
Thanks in advance!
